Grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints and Roman Catholic traditions, including a stint at a Catholic school; somewhat sadly, before the point at which young women (people - not the misogynist Mormon class) wore kilts. Attended church until a teen, but held atheist sentiments from a young age, despite being in a family full of believers. This is a place for my thoughts regarding religion on both a personal level and relating to the world, of which I am a member... And Mormons say journals are a good thing :)

Scientology is Strange

There were worldwide protests yesterday against Scientology. If you haven't heard of it, here is some info, and you can see videos of the events here. I had to work - yes, I know; On a Sunday! - so I was unable to attend

I don't see the reason to be anon because the whole point of the protest was to fight against the practices of Scientology, like investigations and labeling non-followers as SP's, but understand that a social group such as a religion has the power to control people, especially through fear.
