My photo
Grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints and Roman Catholic traditions, including a stint at a Catholic school; somewhat sadly, before the point at which young women (people - not the misogynist Mormon class) wore kilts. Attended church until a teen, but held atheist sentiments from a young age, despite being in a family full of believers. This is a place for my thoughts regarding religion on both a personal level and relating to the world, of which I am a member... And Mormons say journals are a good thing :)

T.O. Temple

The temple is a place where many, even Mormons, are restricted from entering. The one exception is when a new temple is first erected. I was able to go to what is called the Toronto temple, even though it's in Brampton, right before it opened in 1990.

When I heard how much it cost to make it I was in awe, but also questioned how that money could have been better used. The interior, with its intriciate designs, reminded me of other faiths churches. I was unaware at the time of how these criticisms aren't cabalistic (unlike church)

Even though I was a young primary aged child, I had a sense this would be my one and only time inside a temple. That was the one truth I felt that day.
